Howaida Kamel is the Director of Strategic Marketing at Information Technology Industry Development Agency– the executive arm of Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of Egypt.
Kamel held the responsibility of a number of key projects within her work in the public sector and took the lead of positioning the Egyptian ICT sector, maintaining and deepening confidence in Egypt as an ideal outsourcing destination and attracting new GBS centers with the support international consulting institutions and PR agencies.
Kamel possesses professional experience in the areas of integrated marketing communication, government relations, strategic planning, and business model design, in addition to her proven ability to managing mega government projects.
Howaida joined the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) in 2000, where she held many positions in the marketing and business development and moved up in managerial positions. Most recently, she was the director of business development Maadi Technology Park, before moving to back to ITIDA in 2015 to work on spreading of Technology Parks across 2nd tier two cities. She managed to deliver 4 operating parks and support the establishment of the new operational company for the parks.
Since 2018, Kamel is ITIDA ‘s Policies and Strategy Director and, she was appointed as Director Strategic Marketing in 2019 to capitalize on her experience in public-private partnership projects, and integrated marketing solutions. Her main mandate is to support the implementation the new ambitious strategies of offshoring and startups for 2022-2026
She earned her BA degree in English Literature from Faculty of Alsson of Ain Shams University in 1999 and received her MBA from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) in 2008, which qualified her to join the professional PhD Programme in Business Administration at the AASTMT.
Howaida is a mother, painter and an art explorer.
